Free Glasses for Life campaign drives additional site traffic and revenue
SelectSpecs worked with the Fresh Egg inbound marketing team to create and run a month-long competition to increase brand awareness.
The challenge was to create and execute a digital marketing campaign to meet the objective of increasing brand awareness for SelectSpecs. The campaign success was to be measured through an increase in relevant referral traffic and gaining citations from appropriate sites, as well as driving impressions through advertising. Fresh Egg and SelectSpecs also agreed on additional targets related to the number of competition entries submitted and new email subscribers.
Fresh Egg planned, created and ran a “Free Glasses for Life” competition for SelectSpecs, where one winner would receive a 50 year supply of prescription glasses and five runners-up would each win a pair of prescription glasses. All entrants were also given a 10% off discount code to use on the site.
Fresh Egg felt that the concept would be popular on social media, attracting new customers and appealing to the existing SelectSpecs money-conscious audience.
SelectSpecs and Fresh Egg worked closely together to deliver an integrated digital campaign, utilising resources such as the current customer email database to extend campaign reach.
Fresh Egg worked with SelectSpecs to provide a number of recommendations during the landing page build phase, to ensure the page was optimised for search engines and would achieve prominent visibility in search result pages.
Throughout the planning phase, Fresh Egg also offered content and formatting guidance for a SelectSpecs targeted email campaign to promote the competition to the existing database.
Fresh Egg led a number of promotional activities throughout the competition, including:
>Coverage across 16 relevant websites including Moneysavingexpert.com and Studentmoneysaver.co.uk. The campaign was also covered on various other blogs and competition sites, as well a number of relevant forums.
>3,687 unique referral visits to the competition entry landing page were delivered from sites targeted through outreach activity
>10,759 unique visits to the competition entry page
>7,296 unique competition entrants achieved through joint efforts between SelectSpecs and Fresh Egg, which included paid advertising and promotional activity, targeted outreach, and emails to existing customer database
