Fresh Egg Launches 2015 Digital Marketing Apprenticeship Scheme
Since the launch of our first digital marketing apprenticeship scheme in September 2014, our three digital marketing apprentices have been working their way round key areas of the company and are now heading into the final stages of their apprenticeship. As a result of their hard work and dedication, our apprentices now have an excellent level of digital knowledge. Each has achieved a range of industry-recognised qualifications and is now looking forward to an ongoing career in the industry.
Back in December, we were highly commended in the apprentice employer category at the Apprenticeships for England awards and since the beginning of the year, we have been planning for the launch of our 2015 programme. This year’s intake will start in September and we will again be working in conjunction with learning provider DV8 Sussex, who will see candidates through their apprenticeship qualification.

A day in the life
One of our apprentices, Abbie, shares with us exactly what a day in her life looks like:
“I am one of three digital marketing apprentices at Fresh Egg in Worthing. My day starts with a train journey to Worthing in time to catch the minibus that takes us right to the office door for 9am, ready for a brand new day of learning.
“As a Fresh Egg apprentice, I get the opportunity to work within three digital marketing teams across the company including biddable media, inbound marketing and technical SEO. At the moment I am working in the inbound marketing team. As soon as I arrive at work I get stuck into tasks such as promoting content across social media, getting involved in digital PR, creating content and working on client campaigns. Last week, I even got the opportunity to visit Google in London!
“For lunch, many of us gather in the kitchen area to chat and play pool or darts. If that’s not your thing you can go to the snug and play Xbox One or the PS3. Fresh Egg’s office in Worthing is about a 5 minute walk from the beach so in the summer it is beautiful.
“After lunch, it’s back to work. As an apprentice I am involved in meetings, client calls, brainstorms and team catch ups, which help me to understand exactly what is happening within the company. I am encouraged to input ideas and ask questions when I’m unsure. It’s great to feel like you’re an integral part of the team and I learn so much from my colleagues.
“Many of my colleagues love cooking, so there will often be an afternoon email to tell us there is cake in the kitchen! Treats like this really make Fresh Egg a fun place to work. The atmosphere at Fresh Egg is great, everyone has a real passion for what they do which I think is motivating. After a jam-packed day of learning, we venture back to the station at 5.30pm ready to catch the train home.
“Every Friday, I head to DV8 College in Brighton for a day of engaging talks and lectures. My tutors guide me through various projects and unit work as I build my learning portfolio. By the time I complete my year with Fresh Egg and DV8, I will have gained a level three apprenticeship in Digital Marketing for Business, as well as around eight industry recognised qualifications in areas such as Google Analytics and video advertising. This has been an amazing way to kick off my digital marketing career and I am so excited about my prospects for the future.”
Can you see yourself enjoying a day like Abbie’s? It just takes one quick email to apply today.
