Sarah Furbank – Mancunian at Heart
Our latest online content creator Sarah Furbank is certainly well qualified, having picked up a 2:1 in history at Manchester University before going on to train as a journalist at City College Brighton and Hove. Having worked in online content since receiving her NCTJ qualification about a year and a half ago, Sarah was part of the content team at Friday Media Group before coming to join us here at Fresh Egg.
Originally from Cambridge, Sarah currently lives in Brighton and, weather permitting, regularly takes advantage of the city’s famous beach as well as its gigs, cinemas and, of course, pubs. She also says the Olympics have inspired her to try and get back into swimming regularly again, but before she gets too carried away we’d like to point out that it’s now probably a bit late in the year to utilise the handy Brighton or Worthing beaches for this purpose.
Something of a film fan, Sarah lists Amélie, Pulp Fiction and Disney’s Robin Hood among her favourites, while her favourite book is Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird. Still sticking on the subject of favourites, Sarah has a special fondness for ducks (although apparently this affection for birds doesn’t extend to the south coast’s notoriously ever-present seagulls).
Sarah also admits to being “more than a little scared of velvety fabrics” – something we’re totally not going to have to test at some point – and also claims to make a mean spag bol, so how about we promise to keep you away from the velour and you make us all dinner some time?
Sarah says of coming to work for Fresh Egg:
“I’ve heard so many good things about Fresh Egg as a company and as a leader in the digital marketing industry. It’s pretty exciting to think that I am going to be playing my own part here at the Worthing office. I am really looking forward to learning loads from all the lovely people at Fresh Egg and am pretty pleased to be here!”
Glad to have you on the team, Sarah!
