Fresh Egg increased website traffic and social engagement at a typically quiet time for car leasing company Nationwide Vehicle Contracts with a Countdown to Christmas competition.
Nationwide Vehicle Contracts has been established since 2002 and is one of the UK’s leading providers of car and van leasing for businesses and individuals alike.
December is a quiet month for Nationwide Vehicle Contracts in terms of traffic to the website, so there was a need to drive more people to the website.
A secondary objective was to build the email database for future direct marketing activities.
A 24 day campaign called ‘Countdown to Christmas’ was created and run during December 2012.
Each day on the website there was a question to be answered with a different prize to be won. This was promoted heavily across the brand’s social networks, plus other marketing channels.
During the competition period, a total of 28,565 entries were received.
The traffic to the website during this period increased by 87% year-on-year.
Social media communities on Facebook and Twitter for the brand also grew during this period at a higher rate than usual.
