Our better future with B Corp

See how our digital delivery, business, community work and commitments for the future have earned us B Corp certification.

Better digital + better business + better community = better futures.

The future we want to help build is one where:

  • digital experiences serve people fairly

  • businesses create value responsibly

  • communities share in that progress

We are on this path because the decisions made through digital work can shape people’s opportunities, experiences and environmental impact.

Fresh Egg is a Certified B Corporation. Certification gives us a rigorous benchmark for measuring our impact and making our progress visible.

We have always worked across three connected areas:

  • the digital work we deliver

  • the business we run

  • the communities we contribute to

B Corp now gives us a roadmap for pushing each area further, measuring our progress and holding ourselves accountable for the difference we make.

Why we became a B Corp

For more than two decades, Fresh Egg has developed its business around people, evidence and the belief that digital work should answer real needs.

We believe a successful business should create value beyond profit, using its decisions, expertise and influence to improve outcomes for people, communities and the environment. Becoming a B Corp holds us to a higher standard, helping us turn principle into consistent practice and measurable progress.

B Corp gives our commitments structure and accountability... and helps us consider the social, environmental and governance impact of the decisions we make.

Certification is a milestone. We are using it to guide work already under way:

  • expanding our impact measurement

  • involving colleagues in decisions

  • connecting responsible-business principles more explicitly to client delivery

Legally committed to people and planet

As a certified B Corp, we have amended our Articles of Association so our directors are legally required to consider the impact of every decision on our people, our communities and the planet. That commitment is fully transparent and filed at Companies House, where anyone can read it.

Our three pillars

Better digital

What we deliver: digital work shaped by evidence, inclusion and an accountable use of technology.

Our principles begin with:

  • addressing real needs

  • making decisions using evidence

  • designing for inclusion

  • considering the wider consequences of the technology, data and resources we use

We bring audience evidence, technical craft and human judgement into the way we research, design, build and improve digital experiences.

Depending on the project, that can include:

  • removing accessibility barriers

  • improving performance

  • reducing page weight and unnecessary processing

  • setting clear boundaries for the use of AI research

We keep ethics and action together. Our positions on AI ethics, digital sustainability and data governance lead us to concrete delivery standards and decisions. Our experience of delivery informs our

  • public guidance

  • industry advocacy

  • contribution to shared standards

Better business

How we work: the systems, choices and accountability behind Fresh Egg.

B Corp gives us a framework to further develop our approach to:

  • employee wellbeing

  • flexible working

  • learning

  • procurement

  • transparency

  • corporate governance

We already measure our organisational carbon footprint in detail... and now B Corp brings discipline to how we measure and improve our actions across the board. As part of this commitment to continuous improvement, B Corp also ensures we don't mark our own homework.

Boxless Year of Change programme

Our commitments, accreditations, listings and certifications are audited, verified and published by third-party bodies. And through Boxless's Year of Change programme, we have expert, external support to set targets, track progress and report on it openly.

Year of Change is a structured 12-month programme designed to turn principled business ambitions into measurable action. Through the programme, we are developing broader social and environmental KPIs that will help us establish wider baselines, set targets and report transparently on our progress.

Better community

Our wider contribution: sharing expertise, time and relationships.

Fresh Egg grew up in a lively digital community. We have hosted events in Worthing, joined industry gatherings around the country and shared what we have learned with other people working in digital.

That sense of participation has always reached beyond our industry, supporting charities through fundraising, volunteering and professional expertise. Our involvement includes local causes as well as national campaigns, with Macmillan Coffee Morning among our current activities.

Our CharityWise initiative evolved from this spirit of sharing

CharityWise is a free digital marketing knowledge hub created by Fresh Egg for charities and not-for-profit organisations. Launched in January 2024, it created a permanent space where people working in charities could develop their digital knowledge free of charge.

Users can work through the material at their own pace, save useful resources and return to them through a personal dashboard. Organisations can enrol as many team members as they wish, allowing colleagues to learn together and apply their knowledge across the charity.

Fresh Egg’s contribution to the community also includes pro bono support and local partnerships, alongside volunteering and skills sharing. This work keeps us connected to the people around us and gives our expertise a useful life in our community, beyond our client projects.

Better digital + better business + better community = better futures.

Better futures

Our three pillars come together in the future we want to help create: one where digital experiences work for more people, businesses succeed responsibly and communities benefit from shared expertise and opportunity.
  • Better digital brings principle and delivery together

  • Better business makes purpose-led business practices part of how Fresh Egg operates

  • Better community extends our contribution beyond commercial work

Their combined effect is the future we want to help create.

Part of a bigger community of leaders

Fresh Egg is part of a global community of businesses that aren't waiting for regulation to catch up. Together we are using the power of business to build an economy that benefits the many, not just the few, and protects people and planet

Digital knowledge for the charity sector

CharityWise in focus

As of September 2026, CharityWise has supported 1,419 charities and not-for-profit organisations since its launch in January 2024.

1,771 charity professionals have accessed expert-led training and practical guidance.

Members have downloaded 34,305 templates, guides and tools to support their work.

These resources help charities make informed digital decisions and build confidence within their teams. They also help organisations use limited budgets carefully while improving how they communicate with supporters and the people who rely on their services.

The programme develops in response to its members. Their questions influence new resources, training topics and future events.

Going forward, we will share a range of stories from our CharityWise users. Each story will explore the organisation’s circumstances and the work carried out, followed by the results achieved.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is a B Corp?

A Certified B Corporation is a company that has been verified as meeting B Lab's standards for social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. B Lab's standards and certification requirements evolve over time, so you can find the latest information at https://www.bcorporation.net/en-us/standards/.

  • Is Fresh Egg a Certified B Corporation?

Yes. Fresh Egg achieved B Corp Certification on 25 May 2026.

  • What does Fresh Egg mean by a sustainable website?

We look at defined factors such as transferred data, page weight, processing, hosting, content and expected lifespan, using a stated method and boundary.

  • Can website sustainability and performance support each other?

Reducing page weight, requests or unnecessary processing can improve load performance and reduce resource use. We measure both outcomes to understand their relationship in each case.

  • How does Fresh Egg approach accessibility?

We treat accessibility as a requirement to identify and remove barriers. This can include conducting research with disabled people, design and content reviews, technical testing and fixing against an agreed standard. Evidence will combine relevant testing with human expertise, rather than relying solely on automated scores.

  • How does Fresh Egg support charities and communities?

CharityWise, pro bono work, volunteering, skills sharing and local partnerships are the main routes. For CharityWise, participating organisations help define the need and approve how their work and outcomes are represented.

  • How does Fresh Egg report its impact?

Fresh Egg already measures its organisational carbon footprint. We are also working with Boxless, a strategic consultancy specialising in social and environmental responsibility, through its 12-month Year of Change programme. As part of that work, we are developing a broader social and environmental KPI framework, including baselines, targets and measures for tracking our progress. Once agreed, we will report against these measures and share what we learn along the way.

  • Can Fresh Egg help us improve our digital impact?

Yes. Fresh Egg can help organisations investigate areas such as accessibility, UX, performance, page weight, data collection and the use of AI, then prioritise work against defined audience and organisational needs.

  • How does Fresh Egg use AI responsibly?

Responsible use begins with a defined purpose and an assessment of whether AI is appropriate. We consider data protection, confidentiality, bias, explainability, human oversight and accountability, and we set project-specific controls.
