RSPCA strengthens digital capability organisation-wide

In summary
RSPCA needed a digital transformation strategy to improve digital maturity and align with wider corporate goals.
We carried out a full audit, stakeholder research and strategic planning to create a roadmap and embed a digital marketing transformation workstream.
We delivered a clear, organisation-wide strategy, improved digital capabilities, and a structured plan for long-term growth.
Challenge
The RSPCA needed a digital transformation strategy, the first of its kind for the charity, to provide a clear view of current digital activity, future vision and priority areas.
Senior stakeholders recognised that digital maturity was insufficient, with no clear roadmap or coordinated approach in place to support future growth.
There was also a need for leadership and direction to ensure the strategy could be implemented effectively across multiple teams.
Approach
We started with a comprehensive discovery phase, including full immersion in the charity, stakeholder interviews, digital marketing audit and channel analysis.
This was supported by audience research and competitor analysis to understand user needs, behaviours and the wider market landscape.
We then developed a complete digital transformation strategy, including an end-state vision, key focus areas, a prioritised roadmap and a measurement framework.
To ensure successful implementation, we worked closely with internal teams and embedded the new workstream, providing ongoing strategic support, training and leadership across the charity.
Outcome
The strategy provided senior stakeholders with a clear understanding of the charity's current digital capabilities and the key areas to focus on to improve digital maturity over the next five years.
It also ensured alignment with wider strategic initiatives and provided leadership and direction for the first 12 months of digital marketing transformation activity.
Training and support increased digital knowledge across the organisation, with more than 50 people benefiting from digital skills development.
The RSPCA now has a clear, actionable roadmap and the internal capability to continue developing its digital marketing activity long-term.
